Efficiency is my driver. Research is my strength. Creativity are my tools. These are the three pillars to my success and I carry them with me to every career opportunity I have ever embarked on. Success is not luck. It is finding that process that is sustainable for you. I call it The Magic Formula. There is a Magic Formula for everything we do both personal and professional.
I believe in empowering people. My training and management has always included teaching my team to take themselves seriously. I want them to own the reality that sales and marketing is an emotional roller coaster of “no’s” and misses. That’s why we love it. It’s never the same and it’s challenging and it allows us to use our creative brains to find solutions to problems that they didn’t teach us in Algebra. How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop? Who cares? It’s different for everyone. Stop comparing and take care of yourself and stick to your regiment, your process of what you know works for you and you will be successful.
It’s not about being right the first time, it’s about being willing to be wrong and not letting your critical brain beat you down. When you are in the thick of it, you have to be able to bob and weave, change strategy, collaborate, ask for help, but mostly, you have to know that you have a path to success that you can control because you created it.
